About Boyd ISD Technology

TECHNOLOGY VISION STATEMENT

Boyd Independent School District utilizes technology to elevate student achievement, strengthen the student-centered learning environment, and maximize efficiency in communication with parents, partners, and community members.

One-to-One

Boyd ISD implemented a district wide one-to-one program in the Fall of 2013-2014. The purpose of this shift in how our students learn was initiated by a need to provide a truly participatory and authentic learning environment that advanced student engagement, increased growth, and intensified the desire to learn. With the initiative, the district wanted to inspire students to create, innovate, communicate, collaborate, research, problem solve and think critically.  At large, our teachers and students have taken great strides in fulfilling the purpose of the initiative. The program uses technology that is already a big part of student’s lives to make them more excited about learning. The district chose iPad mini’s during the planning process for the one-to-one initiative. Each student PreK-12 received an iPad mini that Fall. This transformation has helped to give teachers the ability to meet the needs of the students and allow for more individualized attention.  Students and teachers across subject areas and grade levels have found ways to make learning rigorous, engaging and interactive.

Grades 6-12 have the option to bring their own approved device. These devices must be a 7 inch display or larger.
