2020 COVID-19 Student Protocol

  • Signs and Symptoms Guidelines
    • Temperature of 99.0-99.9  we will assess this every 5 minutes x3. If student/staff members continue to be within these limits they will be sent home.  Individuals are presumed contagious at least two days prior to symptom onset.  Boyd ISD is lowering their minimum temperature during the pandemic to be proactive in protecting our students and community.
    • Temperatures greater than 100.0 student/staff members will be sent home immediately.
    • Sore Throat
    • Cough that causes difficulty breathing (CHANGE FROM YOUR BASELINE)
    • Diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain
    • Loss of senses (taste, smell)
  • SEND/STAY Home guidelines
    • FEVER

    • If a student is made aware that they are a close contact to someone who tested positive they will begin quarantine.
  • Quarantine (staying home)- for instance: teacher/student in class tests positive... NO SYMPTOMS
    • Home for 14 days from date of close contact with infectious person
    • Daily temp checks (report to your campus administrator)
    • No need for test
    • If symptoms appear, staff/students will begin to fall under the Return to School requirements.

      • Continued improvement of symptoms over 72 hours; you should expect to have some residual mild symptoms (fatigue, nasal congestion, cough)
