Boyd ISD Pre-K Enrollment Guidelines

Pre-Kindergarten Enrollment Guidelines
Eligibility for Pre-Kindergarten
State Guidelines:
In order to qualify for Pre-K a student must be four years old on or before September 1st, reside in Boyd ISD
and meet one of the following requirements:
1. Unable to speak and comprehend the English language
2. Is educationally disadvantaged and qualifies for free and reduced lunch program in the national School Lunch
and Child Nutrition Program
3. Is homeless
4. Is the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military
forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority; or
5. Is the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a
reserved component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty; or
6. Has ever been in the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (foster care)
following an adversary hearing.
District Guidelines:
Non-qualifying children and grandchildren of Boyd ISD full time employees may also attend Boyd ISD’s Pre-K
program.
Non-qualifying students residing inside in Boyd ISD are encouraged to apply. Available slots for nonqualifying students will be filled on a first come basis.
