Boyd ISD Families and Staff:

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we have been awaiting the most updated information to make the best decisions possible. We have put a plan in place to open our schools when water is established to all parts of the city and Walnut Creek SUD has recovered, allowing us to draw water from this source. However, after consulting with the City of Boyd, and receiving the latest update as of 5:30 PM, the Knox water tower is not at full capacity, so we are not able to fully open the buildings tomorrow with functioning water capability.

On Tuesday, February 23rd all school staff will report to school and begin preparing for students’ return. This will allow time for campuses to ensure everything is in working order and able to accommodate our students’ needs including restroom usage; this will also allow for our families living in the City of Boyd time to take care of personal needs including washing clothes, etc…

On Wednesday, February 24th all students will return to learning. Depending on the city’s water conditions, we will return to the school building or facilitate virtual learning days for everyone. There will be detailed information communicated by principals about the end of the 4th six weeks and how we will work together to finalize grades. We will continue to follow the BISD instructional calendar and observe Friday, February 26th and Monday, March 1st as district holidays for staff and students.

This last week has been a hardship for so many of our families, and as a school family we will continue to support each other and work through this together. Please reach out to your school counselors or administrators if there is anything we can do to support your family with the transition back to school. We appreciate your partnership in assuring our students' education and safety is top priority.
